It also supports process versioning, selective activation of specific process versions and execution simulation.

Techical Features

Business Process Designer™ Workflow Platform is a fully object-oriented application developed using Microsoft .NET Framework and based on the n-tier application model.

The application’s graphical environment resembles that of Visual Studio .NET (Visual Studio-like) and is built using Visual Basic .NET object oriented programming language, fully exploiting the Windows Forms features. At the data layer, it uses SQL Server 2000 with stored procedures, while it is possible to use the free version of SQL Server, MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server), for up to 5 users. For the implantation of the business logic it uses the Visual Basic .NET object oriented programming language and COM+ objects.
The process definitions are stored in the internationally recognized open prototyped process definition description language XPDL (XML Process Definition Language), which is based in XML and has been defined by the WFMC (Workflow Management Coalition) independent organization, - members of which are some of the largest workflow platform providers (Oracle, IBM, etc).The XML representation of the business processes enables the interoperability of the stored processes, as the export and import of business process definitions from/to the FlowOn Designer™ is very easy.
